Job summary

The City of Spokane is seeking advanced-level engineering professionals to serve as project managers and provide guidance for design and construction management on public infrastructure projects. Senior Engineers will oversee staff and consultants across multiple departments, including Water, Sewer, Streets, and Engineering Services.

Successful candidates will hold a Washington PE license (or obtain it within six months) and have extensive experience in planning, budgeting, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Six years of professional engineering work experience, two years as a licensed PE.
• Possession of a valid Washington PE license or eligibility to obtain within six months of appointment.
• Possession of a valid Washington Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Develops goals, objectives, and policies for assigned engineering services and programs.
• Supervises staff and consultants; provides technical guidance on feasibility, design, and execution.
• Prepares cost estimates and monitors expenditures; manages project budgets and funding.
• Plans, schedules, and coordinates project phases; ensures compliance with city standards and regulations.
• Reviews plans, drawings, calculations, and specifications for conformity with City Design Standards.
