Job summary

City of Spokane seeks senior engineering professionals to lead projects across water, sewer, streets, and other departments. You will guide staff and consultants, develop construction documents, and ensure compliance with city standards.

The role involves budget planning, contract administration, and presenting staff reports while maintaining safety and policy adherence. A PE license and WA driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Six years of professional engineering experience with two years as a licensed Professional Engineer.
• Washington PE license required; WA license within six months if licensed in another state.
• Valid Washington Driver's License maintained throughout employment.
• Ten years of professional engineering experience with six years as a PE.

Responsibilities

• Develop construction documents including plans, specifications and estimates.
• Review staff and consultant designs for conformance with City Design Standards.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of work as a project manager.
• Prepare proposals, evaluate contracts, and administer contracts for compliance.
• Supervise staff and consultants; provide engineering guidance and conduct performance reviews.
• Present staff reports and manage documentation of operations and activities.
