Job summary

The Colorado Governor's Office of Information Technology is seeking a Senior Service Designer to help build the next generation of public services. You will join cross-functional pod teams to design, deliver, and continuously improve services that work for Coloradans.

This role focuses on service design, not UI/UX, and you will conduct user research with constituents and staff to inform strategic, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience conducting user research in cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of service design methods including journey mapping and service blueprinting.
• Experience translating research into backlog inputs for agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct qualitative interviews and usability testing with constituents and staff.
• Produce journey maps, service blueprints, and state diagrams for product backlogs.
• Translate research findings into personas, user stories, and backlog inputs for agile pods.
• Lead workshops with agency staff to surface process pain points and service gaps.
• Collaborate with Product Manager to align research with mission priorities.
• Create low-fidelity service prototypes to test with users before implementation.
• Run iterative tests of proposed solutions to validate design effectiveness.
