Lubbock County is seeking an experienced supervisor for the Communications/Dispatch Center to lead, train, and supervise staff handling emergency and non-emergency calls. The role involves CAD operation, interagency coordination, and quality assurance to ensure timely, accurate responses.

Applicants should have an Intermediate Telecommunicator License, a high school diploma or GED, and at least three years of experience, including two years in law enforcement communications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Intermediate Telecommunicator License required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least two (2) consecutive years in law enforcement communications.

Responsabilités

• Lead, plan, train, supervise, and review the work of staff responsible for operating the dispatch center; perform the most complex duties in coordination with supervisory and command staff.
• Maintain order and a pleasant work environment.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations and coaching sessions for operators.
• Perform weekly Quality Assessments of calls for shift.
• Ensure standardization of procedures and supervisor on shift; document poor performance and recommend discipline as needed.
• Train staff in emergency dispatch methods and procedures.
• Coordinate scheduling to ensure shift coverage.
• Act as mediator in employee conflicts.
• Serve as liaison between divisions and other agencies.
• Promote departmental activities and public relations.
• Provide staff and administrative support; resolve dispatch issues; conduct special projects.
