Lubbock County is seeking a dedicated 9-1-1 Dispatcher to receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls. The role demands dispatching multiple departments within Lubbock County and surrounding jurisdictions, while operating several software systems and radio channels under pressure.

Responsibilities include TCIC/NCIC data handling, unit coordination, and maintaining accurate logs. Candidates must be 18+, with a HS diploma or GED, and typing speed of 45 wpm.

Formación

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of uninterrupted experience in public contact and clerical work.
• Must type at least 45 words per minute.
• Ability to maintain composure during a high stress situation and multi-task under time constraints.
• Ability to operate multiple computer software programs on multiple screens and two-way radios.

Responsabilidades

• Receive emergency service calls for police, fire, or other emergency services.
• Respond to radio transmissions, voice instructions, and phone conversations simultaneously.
• Dispatch units and maintain contact with all units on assignment.
• Enter and retrieve information from TCIC/NCIC and update CAD with incidents.
• Maintain daily logs of field calls and unit statuses.
• Answer non-emergency calls and direct inquiries to appropriate departments.
• Learn and use CAD, radio, records management, and state TCIC/NCIC terminals.
• Monitor multiple screens and coordinate units based on time, location, and hazard.
