Job summary

State of Colorado seeks a Telecommunications Specialist III to maintain and repair public safety communications systems including LMR, microwave and RF equipment. The role requires on-site work across Colorado with on-call rotation.

Applicants should have three years of hands-on RF tech experience and hold or strive for FCC GROL and tower certifications. The position offers a robust benefits package and competitive salary within the state system.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of hands‑on technical experience with land mobile radio (LMR), microwave, two‑way radio, or related RF technologies.
• Current Tower Certification is preferred.
• Current FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide field installation, maintenance and repair of public safety communications equipment and systems.
• Support engineers with manpower estimates, time and costs for upgrades and maintenance.
• Perform remote monitoring and routine maintenance to ensure system availability and reliability.
• Climb towers and work on transmitter sites to install, repair and assess equipment.
