Job summary

Piedmont Geriatric Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for evening and night shifts, including 12-hour nights. The role leads a nursing team, participates in treatment planning, and ensures delivery of care per treatment plans in a psychiatric/geriatric setting.

The position offers competitive shift differentials, a sign-on bonus of $5,000 for eligible hires, and a comprehensive benefits package. Virginia RN license required; background checks and drug screening apply.

Qualifications

• Virginia State Board of Registered Nursing license is required.
• Considerable psychiatric and/or geriatric nursing experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records is preferred.

Responsibilities

• supervise nursing staff on one of four treatment units and participate in treatment team meetings.
• deliver patient care according to individual treatment plans, guiding and coaching staff.
• utilize nursing process with knowledge of pharmacology and psychiatric disorders.
• demonstrate competency per the facility's Competency Assessment.
• participate in therapeutic program activities and ensure clinical standards are met.
