Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. seeks an Engineering Development Technician IV to work on advanced unmanned systems, contributing to development, build, integration, and maintenance for defense and commercial applications.

You will conduct fabrication support across mechanical, electrical, and composites, lead technician efforts, and ensure safe, timely delivery of prototype hardware while contributing feedback to improve performance and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent technical certificate.
• 6+ years of technical experience in machining, composites, rapid prototyping, and electronics.
• Proficiency with machine shop tools and assembly documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical, electrical, and composite fabrication, repair, and testing of integrated systems.
• Operate and maintain shop tools and track materials, ROI, and project progress.
• Instruct team members on safe use of equipment and processes.
• Provide rapid prototyping fabrication and assembly for prototype hardware.
• Meet timelines and milestones for hardware readiness.
• Document build techniques and processes for readiness and handoff.
• Lead technician support on engineering projects.
• fabricate development fixtures, tools, or molds and provide design feedback.
