Job summary

AeroVironment in Petaluma, CA is seeking an Engineering Development Technician III to contribute to the development, build, integration, and maintenance of advanced unmanned systems for defense and commercial applications. You will work across mechanical, electrical, and composite fabrication, supporting rapid prototyping and project milestones.

The role requires hands-on fabrication, tool operation, and documentation of processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or technical school certificate.
• 5+ years in machining, composites, rapid prototyping, and electronics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Familiarity with aircraft or remote control (R/C) systems.
• Ability to read build/assembly documentation and develop procedures.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication support across mechanical, electrical, and composites for integrated systems.
• Operate and maintain shop tools and equipment, meeting project milestones.
• Document processes and build techniques for readiness and handover.
• Attend project meetings and communicate status of hardware and schedules.
• Build low-volume prototype assemblies and ensure lab safety and organization.
