Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Strathearn, CA is seeking an Engineering Development Technician IV to support the development and integration of advanced unmanned aircraft systems for defense and commercial applications.

This hands-on role focuses on assembly, integration, test, and shop support; candidates should have experience building, modifying, and troubleshooting drones or RC aircraft. Lead projects with engineers, document processes, and contribute to manufacturability improvements while adhering

Qualifications

Experience building, modifying and troubleshooting drones/UAS or RC aircraft.
Technical degree/certificate and/or relevant certifications are a plus.
Experience with desktop 3D printers and basic CAD-to-print workflow.
Comfort interpreting drawings and shop-floor documentation.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical and electrical assembly, integration, testing of unmanned systems.
Operate and maintain shop tools, equipment, soldering irons, 3D printers.
Support prototype hardware, wiring, avionics installation, payload integration.
Plan and kit builds to meet project schedules and milestones.
Document build processes and best practices for repeatability.
Lead technician on projects; coordinate tasks and report status.
Provide feedback to improve manufacturability, serviceability, robustness.
