Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Moorpark, CA seeks an Engineering Development Technician IV to contribute to development, build, integration, and maintenance of advanced unmanned systems for defense and commercial applications.

You will fabricate, assemble, troubleshoot, and test complex hardware while teaching team members to use shop tools safely, meeting aggressive milestones and documenting key processes for successful transitions of responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent technical cert.
• 12+ years of technical experience in machining, composites and rapid prototyping.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Aircraft/R/C experience preferred.
• Extensive use of machine shop tools and fixtures.
• Experience building fixtures, tools, or electronic devices.
• Knowledge of build/assembly documentation.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, assembly, testing of integrated systems.
• Operate and maintain shop equipment and tools, track materials and ROI.
• Lead rapid prototyping fabrication and assembly services.
• Prepare development test fixtures and molds.
• Document processes and techniques for readiness and handover.
• Provide design feedback to improve manufacturability and cost.
• Maintain safe, clean, organized lab and shop areas.
