Job summary
Sargent & Lundy, a leading engineering firm in Atlanta, seeks a senior lead engineer in power systems to join the Electrical Analytical Division on a hybrid schedule, combining work at the Peachtree Corners office with remote work.
The role focuses on protection system calculations, relay settings for HV/EHV substations and generators, and ensuring NERC PRC compliance, with ample opportunity to influence critical client projects and advanced protection software usage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; master's/PhD preferred.
- 12+ years of power system protection experience.
- Experience with microprocessor-based relays and relay software.
- Experience with HV/EHV substation protection and line relaying; LV breaker protection.
- Familiarity with protection software: ETAP, SKM, Aspen.
- PE exam is valued but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform protection system calculations and analysis for diverse clients.
- Develop relay settings for HV/EHV substations and transmission lines.
- Develop relay settings for generators, transformers, and motors; protection devices.
- Assist clients to comply with NERC PRC standards.
- Relaying Event Report analysis.
