Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5–7 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer in protective relaying for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Engineer in Training Certification required.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs.
• Proven ability to uphold safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Protective Relaying: develop protection philosophies, relay settings, and SCADA integration.
• Protection Analyses: model development, short circuit, time-current coordination, arc flash, and NERC compliance.
• Leadership: lead project teams, provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Data Acquisition: perform onsite data collection and discuss project specifics with clients.
• Industry Standards: apply IEEE/ANSI/NERC PRC standards in design work.
• Applicable software: use tools like AcSELeratorQuickset, SKM-PTW, ETAP, CAPE, GEEnervista.
