Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Protection and Control Engineer to lead P&C design and deliverables for electrical substations from 12kV to 500kV. You will guide a project team, coordinate with engineers and vendors, and ensure safe, reliable protection and control solutions for utility, renewable and industrial clients.

The role emphasizes design excellence, detailed documentation, and on-time delivery with a focus on quality and safety. Remote-eligible with US/Canada base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Utility, Renewable and/or Industrial HV & EHV substation P&C and SCADA design.
• Licensed Electrical (Power) Professional Engineer preferred and able to serve as responsible engineer.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 61850, NERC-CIP and utility standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection, automation and control design for substations (12kV–500kV) and coordinate with project teams.
• Prepare P&C drawings, diagrams, schematics, and BOMs with safety-minded optimization.
• Coordinate with layout engineers, relay settings, vendors and field personnel.
• Develop project execution plans, estimates and risk mitigations.
• Support testing, commissioning and FAT/SAT activities.
