Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Senior Relay Technician to lead protection and control activities for substations and C&I projects across North America. You will perform advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field leadership to ensure safe, reliable operation and project success.

Responsibilities include analyzing protection schemes, calibrating relays, coordinating resources, and delivering comprehensive reports while mentoring field personnel and interfacing with customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in electrical/electronic technology or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in protection and control environments.
  • NETA I/II/IV certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead protection and control testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for substations and C&I systems.
  • Manage projects, scope, schedules, and field resources to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Develop and review test reports, relay settings verification, and commissioning documentation.
  • Coach Relay Technicians and junior engineers; mentor site personnel.
  • Interface with customers and utilities to report status and resolve issues.
