Job summary

Jobtailor in Phoenix, AZ seeks a seasoned Project Engineer and Cost Account Manager to lead a demonstration program. You will own the budget, schedule, milestones, and technical deliverables for engine and rig tests, while coordinating stakeholders across engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing.

You will drive estimating and planning for major development efforts and report directly to the Director of Engineering, ensuring compliance with certification standards and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in gas turbine engines or aerospace systems.
• Project management experience.
• Experience leading complex projects interfacing with cross-functional teams, external customers and suppliers.
• Strong project management skills, including budget and schedule management, risk management and earned value management.
• U.S. Person status: citizen, permanent resident, or export authorization capability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the project engineer and project cost account manager for the demonstration program.
• Own budget, schedule, milestones and technical deliverables supporting engine and rig tests.
• Manage hardware fabrication, sourcing, inspection, instrumentation, assembly and testing.
• Oversee rig, laboratory and facilities projects supporting demonstrator test objectives.
• Coordinate engine module owners to meet test objectives.
• Coordinate sourcing and internal manufacturing to maintain test schedules.
• Ensure test articles are built to specification and run according to plans.
• Lead estimating and planning for significant aspects of a major full-scale development program.
• Report directly to the Director of Engineering.
