Job summary

Brown & Brown, Inc. is seeking a Senior Proposal Leader to drive strategy, project management, and delivery of complex RFPs, RFIs, proposals, and finalist pursuits across Brown & Brown Retail.

The role coordinates producers, SMSs, Marketing/Design, Legal, Risk Management, and other contributors to ensure high-quality, compelling responses. They will own pursuits from kickoff through submission and closeout, providing senior-level oversight and coaching to Proposal Managers and RFP team members,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in proposal management, RFP/RFI development, pursuit strategy, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience owning proposals end-to-end and coordinating multidisciplinary contributors under tight deadlines.
• Exceptional writing, editing, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience mentoring/providing senior-level guidance to proposal professionals.
• Experience with proposal/content-management platforms and Microsoft 365; ability to adopt workflow, CRM, collaboration, and AI-enabled tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, English, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• APMP certification or similar is preferred.
• Experience with content governance and reusable libraries.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of complex, high-value RFPs and finalist pursuits.
• Analyze solicitation requirements, client priorities, and evaluation criteria to shape strategy.
• Develop win themes, value propositions, and differentiated messaging.
• Facilitate kickoffs, strategy sessions, and review meetings with clear ownership and milestones.
• Advise on proposal approach, structure, positioning, and inputs from executives.
• Oversee governance, content improvement, and reuse in a centralized library.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Marketing/Design, Legal, and Risk Management.
