Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Proposal Manager I to lead high-stakes proposals from our Chantilly, VA site. You will develop strategies, coordinate with engineering, finance, and legal teams, and ensure compliant, compelling responses that win new business with US and international customers.

The role emphasizes technical writing, project management, and leadership of cross-functional teams to deliver polished proposals on time. A US security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical, management, or business field.
• 5+ years of experience in proposal management.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Demonstrated success leading proposals with values >$100M.
• Technical writing skills to translate complex information into clear, persuasive language.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute proposal plans, including analyzing RFPs, outlines, and compliance matrices.
• Collaborate with the BD Manager/Director to craft winning proposal strategies and messaging.
• Write and manage compliant, high-quality proposals addressing RFP requirements.
• Lead proposal volumes, ensure statements are well-written and compliant.
• Run proposal kick-off meetings and monitor timelines with contributors.
• Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal to refine proposal content.
• Create templates, reusable content, and visuals for proposals.
• Perform QA for grammar, consistency, and formatting of submissions.
• Oversee final production and timely submission of proposals.
• Document lessons learned and suggest process improvements.
