Job summary

Loudoun County Government is seeking a Taxpayer Services Supervisor II for the Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue to lead the Personal Property Tax Assessment and Compliance teams and ensure accurate, fair taxation under state law and local ordinances.

Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner, you will supervise Tax Assessors and Compliance Specialists, plan and assign work, review performance, support onboarding, and engage with vehicle owners to gather information and communicate filing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with four years of related work experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with Virginia local personal property taxation is preferred.
• Customer service experience and ability to interact with taxpayers and representatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vehicle personal property tax assessments and conduct complex, supervisory-level tax account reviews.
• Ensure taxation is accurate, fair, and compliant with laws and precedents.
• Perform tax compliance work and use discovery methods to ensure all vehicles are included on the tax rolls.
• Explain proper filing procedures and local tax obligations to taxpayers.
• Lead a team of Tax Assessors and Compliance Specialists; plan, organize, and assign work.
• Train employees and promote their professional development; administer corrective action when necessary.
