County of Culpeper, VA is seeking a dedicated Commissioner of the Revenue professional to act as the chief assessing officer for local government tax operations. The role involves processing personal-property valuations, confirming ownership, and compiling assessment books and tax bill data forTreasurers.

The incumbent will also administer relief, exemption, and incentive programs while ensuring confidentiality.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 1 year in-person customer service preferred.
• Ability to perform data entry with accuracy and speed.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting and office procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as Customer Service Representative; communicate with citizens, business owners, and legal counsel.
• Research and respond to routine and complex taxpayer inquiries in person, by phone, and in writing.
• Collect taxes over-the-counter and via mail including income and related levies.
• Maintain assessment data and conduct desk audits to enforce compliance.
• Prepare records and documents for electronic and manual input into imaging systems.
