Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group in Illinois is seeking a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant for a fully remote role focused on high-hazard property risk assessments and expert guidance to insureds.

You will conduct on-site inspections (when travel allows) and deliver practical risk improvements, mentoring junior consultants, and collaborating with risk analysts to strengthen property risk engineering programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred and 8+ years of technical/engineering experience.
• Property experience including high-hazard exposure is required.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform property risk engineering site inspections for existing and prospective policyholders.
• Generate technical risk reports identifying exposures and recommending controls.
• Collaborate with Risk Analysts to resolve deficiencies.
• Mentor junior Risk Engineering Consultants and guide report generation.
• Coordinate with internal/external resources on complex risks.
• Travel as needed within region and occasionally overnight.
