Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group seeks a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant to support high‑hazard industrial accounts with on‑site property risk expertise. This 100% remote role is open to candidates based in Tennessee who can travel regionally.

You will conduct property risk inspections, develop actionable risk improvement recommendations, and mentor junior consultants while partnering with insureds to reduce loss potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
• 8+ years in technical and/or engineering related experience.
• Must have property experience, inclusive of high hazard property exposure.
• Strong understanding of NFPA Codes and Standards or equivalent (Factory Mutual Guidelines).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and basic knowledge of Excel.
• Must be able to travel by car regularly (limited air travel).
• Good command of fundamental and advanced technical concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate difficult or technical decisions with confidence and precision.
• Consistently demonstrate high level of proficiency across Property Risk Engineering core competencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform property risk engineering site inspections for existing and limited prospective policyholders.
• Generate technical property risk engineering reports identifying exposures and recommended controls.
• Collaborate with Risk Analysts to resolve identified deficiencies.
• Mentor junior Risk Engineering Consultants and support increasing complexity accounts.
• Coordinate with internal and external resources on risks of all levels of complexity.
• Travel regionally as needed to perform inspections and assessments.
