Job summary

AlphaStaffHCM client is seeking a Field Property Adjuster Specialist in the Tacoma, WA or Olympia, WA area. This field-based role uses a virtual-first approach with desk adjusting and occasional travel to inspect losses within your territory.

You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle complex property claims, handling coverage decisions, liability exposure, and regulatory compliance while delivering exceptional service and trusted advice.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of property claims adjusting experience of moderate complexity losses.
• Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools.
• Active Property & Casualty license within 90 days and up to 3 attempts.
• Experience handling high‑severity and complex property claims such as fire, water damage, vandalism, etc.
• Ability to travel 50–75% of the year and/or work catastrophe duty when needed.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manages a claims caseload of complex damages and coverage questions.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve claims and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Investigate damages using insured and third-party information and identify subrogation potential.
• Assess coverage and determine settlement amounts within authority; involve management for outside limits.
• Maintain thorough claim documentation and utilize estimating tech for complex claims.
• Support CAT response and on-call duties, including evenings/weekends as required.
• Travel to resolve claims and conduct in-person inspections as needed.
