Job summary

USAA seeks a Property Adjuster Specialist in Seattle to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle complex property claims using virtual inspection tools. You will confirm coverage, analyze liability, and settle cases within regulatory guidelines while supporting CAT operations and requirement to travel as needed.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in property claims adjusting, strong negotiation and investigative skills, and comfort with Xactimate and residential construction knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience of moderate complexity losses that includes writing estimates.
• Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools and platforms.
• Proficient knowledge of residential construction and contracts.
• Ability to travel 50-75% of the year and obtain/maintain adjuster license within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex property claims with guidance from authority limits.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal partners to resolve claims.
• Investigate damages using insured, third parties, and external sources.
• Determine coverage and negotiate settlements within authority; escalate when needed.
• Maintain accurate claim files and support CAT response during surges.
