Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to manage the full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a diverse developer portfolio. This role focuses on high-level accuracy in accrual-basis accounting and requires a leader capable of supervising staff while coordinating with lenders and investors.

Key Responsibilities

• Portfolio Financial Management: Lead the month-end close process and ensure accrual-basis financial packages are delivered to clients, lenders, and investors on time.
• Supervision: Manage and coach a Staff Accountant, organizing their workflow and providing constructive feedback on productivity.
• Compliance & Filings: Oversee essential property filings, including annual 571-L/571-R county forms and CTCAC financial certifications.
• Audit & Tax Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing all necessary schedules and responding to technical inquiries within 1–2 days.
• Operational Oversight: Track property-related deadlines for loan payments, insurance renewals, and property taxes to ensure portfolio compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of property management accounting experience.
• 3 years of experience supervising staff accountants.
• Proficiency with Yardi or similar property management software.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting degree preferred).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times.
