Overview

Hybrid - Senior Property Accountant. This Jobot Job is hosted by Jim Forman.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial management of a portfolio of properties, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Conduct thorough CAM reconciliations and lease audits to ensure accurate billing and expense recovery.
• Utilize Yardi software to manage and track all property accounting functions.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Participate in the preparation of year-end audit and tax return schedules.
• Use knowledge of fund accounting to manage and allocate funds effectively.
• Maintain the general ledger (GL) and perform monthly reconciliations.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in Yardi or a similar property management software.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Experience with CAM reconciliations and lease audits.
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
