Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Scientific Associate Director - Project Toxicologist to lead the Translational Safety & Risk Sciences (TSRS) efforts on cross-functional project teams from discovery through post-marketing. The PTR will drive nonclinical safety strategies and collaborate with internal scientists and external partners to advance innovative therapeutics across modalities.

The role requires a Doctorate with extensive toxicology experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence

Qualifications

• PhD/MD/PharmD with 4+ years toxicology experience
• Experience in drug development from discovery through regulatory approvals
• Board certification by the American Board of Toxicology (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Serve as TSRS PTR on core project teams and lead TSRS sub-team.
• Design, implement, and oversee nonclinical safety programs for drug development candidates.
• Develop innovative study designs and NAMs to enhance translational risk assessment.
• Interpret experimental data and author nonclinical strategy and regulatory submissions.
• Communicate effectively within TSRS and cross-functional teams, tailoring to diverse audiences.
• Mentor scientists in nonclinical studies and development programs.
