Job summary

Amgen Inc. (IR) is seeking a Scientific Associate Director - Project Toxicologist to serve as the key scientific interface between Translational Safety & Risk Sciences (TSRS) and cross-functional project teams from discovery through post-marketing.

You will lead non-clinical safety strategies, integrate NAMs, and partner with internal and external collaborators to advance diverse therapeutic modalities. The role requires a PhD/MD/PharmD with toxicology expertise, strong cross-functional

Qualifications

• Doctorate, PharmD, or MD with 4 years Toxicology experience, or Master’s with 7 years, or Bachelor’s with 9 years.
• External collaboration and cross-functional leadership in drug development.
• Board certification by the American Board of Toxicology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as TSRS PTR on core project teams and lead the TSRS sub-team.
• Design and oversee non-clinical safety assessment programs across development stages.
• Develop study designs and NAMs to address complex safety questions and inform regulatory submissions.
• Mentor scientists in study design, execution, and interpretation of non-clinical data.
