Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Construction Scheduler to oversee integrated project schedules for large industrial capital projects. You will develop baselines, forecast timelines, and coordinate with scope, cost, risk, and quality controls to ensure on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in construction/engineering, 2+ years as a scheduler, and deep proficiency in Primavera P6 and advanced spreadsheets.

Qualifications

• Experience managing schedules in large industrial capital projects.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Develop and maintain fully integrated project baselines
• Provide integrated project schedule management
• Lead predictive schedule analysis and quantitative forecasting
• Integrate schedule management with scope, cost, risk, and quality systems
• Lead schedule initiation using project quality and risk frameworks
• Use Expected Monetary Value (EMV) and sensitivity analysis for schedule forecasting
• Develop risk-managed baselines and apply cost-of-quality concepts
• Perform deep-dive schedule assessments and identify proactive, preventive, and predictive actions
• Conduct contract schedule reviews for scope, milestones, and performance alignment
• Assess contractor performance and identify corrective actions
• Advise project managers, major project leaders, and scheduling leadership on contract schedule risks and opportunities
• Tailor schedule methodologies, processes, tools, and techniques to project needs
• Direct schedule management strategy throughout the project lifecycle
• Design and implement processes that improve precision and predictability
• Produce standard and advanced schedule reports for stakeholders, leadership, and executives
• Communicate complex schedule insights to guide decision-making
• Serve as a trusted scheduling subject matter expert and strategic advisor
• Promote best practices and compliance with AACE, PMI, and industry frameworks
• Support emergency response efforts when required

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 6+ years of construction/engineering experience, including at least 2 years as a project scheduler
• High-level proficiency with Primavera P6 and advanced spreadsheet tools
• Experience managing schedules in large industrial capital project environments
• Strong integrated understanding of scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality management
• Proficiency with risk and quality management tools and techniques
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
• Ability to generate, analyze, and progress complex multi-level schedules and databases
• Ability to read and interpret schedules; database and schedule software proficiency
• Valid Drivers License in state, upon hire
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree and four years experience as a project scheduler
