Job summary

Midwest Contracting Inc in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Senior Project Manager for underground wet utility projects. You will lead two Project Managers, own project portfolios from award to closeout, and drive profitability by managing budgets, schedules, and costs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of project management experience in underground utilities, heavy civil, or sitework.
• Experience leading or mentoring other project managers or engineers.
• Budgets of $1M+ and profitable delivery track record.
• Estimating or bid review experience to identify scope and pricing risks before bids.
• Strong scheduling, cost control, change order management, and contract administration.
• Arizona municipal permitting knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with trench safety and OSHA excavation standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of two Project Managers and monitor project performance, budgets, and schedules.
• Own and manage a portfolio of commercial wet utility projects from preconstruction to closeout.
• Drive profitability through accurate forecasting, cost tracking, and monthly billings.
• Develop and maintain project schedules; coordinate crews, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Review plans and reports; flag conflicts and change order opportunities.
• Prepare and manage change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
• Foster relationships with general contractors, owners, and agencies.
• Ensure safety compliance per OSHA standards on all sites.
• Provide bid review and final sign-off with the estimating team.
