Job summary

Calqulate Metrics Ltd is seeking a Project Manager specialized in underground wet utilities and heavy civil construction to oversee planning, execution, financial performance, and successful completion of urban utility projects.

The ideal candidate will lead teams, review plans, manage budgets, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence across water, sewer, storm drain, and pipeline projects in Southern California.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing underground wet utility construction projects for a self-performing contractor.
• Strong ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, contracts, and documents.
• Experience with water, sewer, storm drain, and pipeline projects preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of union agreements, prevailing wage requirements, and public works construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall direction, execution, and successful completion of underground utility construction projects up to $10 million.
• Review project plans, specifications, permits, contracts, and construction documents.
• Lead project teams to deliver safely, on schedule, within budget, and to client expectations.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, revenue projections, and financial reports.
• Monitor profitability, identify risks, and implement cost-control strategies.
• Coordinate with estimating teams to review bids, budgets, scope, and expectations.
• Develop schedules, manpower plans, equipment needs, and execution strategies with field teams.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and purchase orders.
• Prepare and negotiate subcontract agreements and procurement documents.
• Maintain client relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
