Job summary

OceanaGold’s Haile Gold Mine seeks an experienced Manager – Projects Surface Processing Infrastructure to lead the planning, design, construction, commissioning, and readiness of major surface processing projects. You will collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to deliver Paste Plant and Leach Circuit upgrades on time and within budget.

The role demands 15+ years of relevant experience, including senior project leadership, and a hands-on, collaborative leadership style.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical or related).
• 15+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a senior role delivering large projects.
• Previous management experience is required.
• Experience from inception through construction, commissioning and close-out.
• Experience in both project start-up and operating environments.
• Strong project risk management and mitigation experience.
• Familiarity with surface processing infrastructure development and project controls.
• Strong scheduling, cost management, procurement, contract management, quality and risk understanding.
• Formal project management qualifications are highly regarded.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborative leadership style across internal/external teams.
• Hands-on approach to managing people, contractors, and projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft products.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Paste Plant and Leach Circuit upgrade and related surface processing infrastructure projects.
• Develop and oversee Project Execution Plans with clear scope, milestones and governance.
• Manage projects through feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, suppliers, vendors, and internal resources.
• Maintain project controls for schedule, cost, procurement, change, risk, quality, and reporting.
• Oversee contractor selection, tendering, and contract management for assigned packages.
• Monitor schedules, critical paths, milestones, interfaces, and recovery actions.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, cost estimates, commitments, and variance reporting.
• Identify and manage risks and opportunities across safety, environment, technical, and cost domains.
• Review engineering designs and work packages for constructability and operability.
• Lead resolution of complex technical and interface issues.
• Establish quality processes across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Lead readiness activities, including handover planning, training, commissioning support, and transition to operations.
