About the Role

Our client, a visionary leader in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an exceptional Senior Project Manager to drive critical initiatives focused on expanding their clean energy portfolio. You will be responsible for managing complex projects from conception to completion, including site selection, feasibility studies, permitting, construction oversight, and operational integration. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in project management, a deep understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, hydro), and a passion for environmental sustainability. This role is key to achieving our client's ambitious growth targets and making a tangible difference in the fight against climate change.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of renewable energy projects.
• Manage all project phases, including site assessment, feasibility studies, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for multiple projects simultaneously.
• Oversee and coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Effectively manage stakeholder expectations and communications, ensuring project alignment with strategic goals.
• Monitor project progress, performance, and financial metrics, providing regular reports to senior management.
• Ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive innovation and efficiency in project delivery methods.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, hydro, etc.).
• Proven track record of managing projects with budgets exceeding R15 million.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, project development cycles, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) negotiations and utility interconnection processes is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and financial modeling tools.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil), Environmental Science, or a related technical field.
• PMP certification is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
• This is a 100% remote role; candidates must be self-motivated and highly organized.
