Accentute Staffing partners with an established mechanical construction organization hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead their Process Mechanical team in Fuquay-Varina or Charlotte.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of PM experience with a process mechanical subcontractor, a track record of delivering multi-million dollar projects, and the ability to manage safety, cost, schedule, quality, and client relationships across occupied healthcare, industrial and biopharma facilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of project management experience with a process mechanical subcontractor.
• Experience delivering large heavy‑commercial projects valued at $5 million or more.
• Strong knowledge of planning, estimating, scheduling, job-cost controls, change management, and construction safety.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver process mechanical projects while meeting profitability, labor-efficiency, safety, schedule, cash-flow, and quality goals.
• Manage fabrication and installation of process piping, utility piping, HVAC, plumbing, structural steel, equipment setting, and medical gas systems.
• Lead work in occupied healthcare, industrial, and biopharmaceutical facilities while maintaining strict safety and procedural standards.
• Evaluate estimates and establish job-costing structures for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders and review submittals for alignment with contract drawings and specifications.
• Conduct regular cost reviews and progress reporting, identify deviations early, and coordinate corrective action to keep projects on time and within budget.

This direct-hire opportunity can be based in Fuquay-Varina or Charlotte. The ideal candidate brings extensive process mechanical construction experience, a strong record of leading large projects, and the ability to manage safety, cost, schedule, quality, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver process mechanical projects while meeting profitability, labor-efficiency, safety, schedule, cash-flow, and quality goals.
• Manage the fabrication and installation of process piping, utility piping, HVAC, plumbing, structural steel, equipment setting, and medical gas systems in accordance with codes, budgets, and project schedules.
• Lead work in occupied healthcare, industrial, and biopharmaceutical facilities while maintaining strict safety and procedural standards.
• Evaluate estimates and establish job-costing structures for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders and review submittals for alignment with contract drawings and specifications.
• Conduct regular cost reviews and progress reporting, identify deviations early, and coordinate corrective action to keep projects on time and within budget.
• Develop project schedules, plan staffing and equipment needs, oversee site execution, track changes, and maintain complete purchasing, billing, and accounts‑payable documentation.
• Build strong relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal partners; follow up to ensure satisfaction and resolve installation issues.
• Promote a safe work environment through safety meetings, employee involvement, incident investigations, and consistent field oversight.

Requirements

• 10+ years of project management experience with a process mechanical subcontractor, including process piping, utility piping, HVAC, plumbing, structural steel, or equipment setting.
• Extensive experience delivering large heavy‑commercial construction projects valued at $5 million or more.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, estimating, scheduling, job‑cost controls, change management, and construction safety.
• Ability to organize the personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors required to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate daily with field teams, clients, and business partners.
• Ability to perform regular site visits and work in active construction environments, including walking, climbing, crawling, using required personal protective equipment, and occasional exposure to inclement weather or elevated temperatures.
