Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex mechanical, process piping, plumbing, and HVAC construction projects in Portland, OR. You will oversee preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and profitability while maintaining strong client relationships.

You will collaborate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to drive project success, monitor progress, and deliver excellent outcomes on high-profile facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in mechanical/construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and process piping systems.
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics; proficiency with scheduling software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Project Manager - Mechanical & Process Piping Construction
About the Opportunity

A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex mechanical, process piping, plumbing, and HVAC construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout. Position Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of mechanical and process piping projects. This role serves as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders and is accountable for managing all aspects of project performance, including safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage mechanical and process piping projects throughout all phases of construction.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost projections.
  • Lead project planning, resource allocation, and risk management initiatives.
  • Support preconstruction activities, estimating efforts, and project proposals.
  • Coordinate BIM/VDC activities and participate in clash detection and resolution processes.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, isometrics, and contract documents to ensure successful execution.
  • Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, fabrication teams, field personnel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontracted services.
  • Monitor labor productivity and implement strategies to improve project performance.
  • Track fabrication and installation activities to ensure schedule, quality, and budget objectives are achieved.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting, contract administration, and correspondence.
  • Process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and related project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for future work.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience within mechanical construction, industrial construction, or process piping environments.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and process piping systems.
  • Demonstrated success managing project budgets, schedules, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and isometric drawings.
  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling software.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and develop strong client relationships.
