Job summary

CDM Smith in California is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead municipal drinking water, wastewater, and pump station projects in Northern California. You will serve as the primary client contact, guide multidisciplinary teams, and ensure sound decisions from planning through construction administration.

The role may be based in Concord or Sacramento, CA, with travel as needed. Strong leadership, communication, and technical depth are essential to deliver quality outcomes for client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 7 years of related experience.
• PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, accountable leadership from project initiation through closeout.
• Serve as the principal day-to-day client contact and trusted advisor.
• Apply sound engineering judgment in municipal water and wastewater planning, design, and construction.
• Define project objectives, scope, schedule, and budget; prepare statements of work and risk mitigation plans.
• Manage project costs, revenue, profitability, cash flow, and forecasting.
• Continuously evaluate project status, critical path, risks, and change management.
• Develop and maintain a realistic resource plan and coordinate subcontractor and vendor support.
• Collaborate with sales and technical leaders to identify opportunities and shape scopes and staffing plans.
