Job summary

Sterling Site Access Solutions is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex site access projects across North America from the Phoenix, IL area. You will work with Sales, Design and Operations to ensure delivery on time and within budget, while managing client relationships and third-party vendors.

The role requires 5+ years in commercial construction or mass timber project management, a solid technical background in structural systems, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (advanced degree).
• 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction, structural engineering, or mass timber projects.
• Strong technical background and understanding of structural systems, building codes, and sustainable construction practices.
• Proven leadership in managing complex projects, teams, and client relationships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills—able to build rapport quickly in face-to-face and virtual settings.
• Advanced proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar) and CRM systems.
• Willingness to travel extensively (40-60%) and be based at our Phoenix, IL plant or regional locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management from signed quote through project closeout per company protocols and as the main contact for project team members.
• Keep clients, contractors, and vendors informed on all aspects of project fulfillment.
• Assess and monitor conditions and progress, primarily via virtual means with site visits when needed.
• Lead project meetings and maintain thorough project documentation, agendas, minutes, punch lists, decisions, and reports.
• Coordinate with accounting to set up new clients, deliver invoices, and follow up on payments.
• Manage project budget, subcontractor bids, progress billing, and change orders.
• Ensure adherence to project scope and contract terms.
• Align manufacturing and fabrication with operations and design leadership while representing client interests.
• Coordinate installation and material shipment schedules to ensure proper sequencing.
• Prepare close-out documents and assist in post-mortem reviews.
