Job summary

Orion is seeking a Project Manager for heavy civil construction in Tampa, FL, on-site. You will lead project engineering management and customer relations, develop bid packages, and oversee scheduling, procurement, and safety compliance on marine projects.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with about 8 years of related experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel for extended periods as needed.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management and 8 years’ experience or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Project Management & Administration, Marine Construction Materials, Procurement, Estimating, Scheduling, Project Tracking Software, Cost Control, Engineering & Project Standards, and Safety & Environmental Compliance.
• Ability to quickly learn technical aspects, be an effective communicator, and interface with employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the successful completion and profitability of projects.
• Provide project management guidance to Superintendents and Foremen on marine construction projects.
• Develop bid proposals for upcoming marine construction and services projects and ensure timely submission.
• Negotiate contracts and change orders as required.
• Estimate costs for materials, services, labor, and other costs.
• Procure materials and services from suppliers.
• Interpret project plans and specifications for stakeholders.
• Schedule work activities to meet plan timelines.
• Interface with project team members, suppliers, and customers.
• Maintain safe work environment and enforce safety policies.
• Participate in Safety and Environmental initiatives for compliance.
• Travel to visit job sites as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
