Job summary

TECO Energy, Inc. in Tampa seeks a Project Manager I to lead transmission, distribution, substation and road widening capital projects.

You will be the single point of responsibility for planning, budgeting, scope and schedule, and drive project execution with cross-functional teams. Qualifications include a high school diploma (bachelor's preferred), 3+ years as PMI PM or 14 years in engineering/construction, plus PMP or PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten years of work experience including Contract Administration, Electric Delivery system infrastructure design/construction, budgeting and cost controls, and contractor negotiations.
• College education may be considered in lieu of comparable direct/related experience.
• Preferred: two years of electric distribution/transmission project administration experience.
• Required: minimum of 3 years as Project Manager I, or fourteen years in engineering/construction.
• Preferred: experience managing construction contracts, engineering contracts and equipment supply contracts.
• Supervisory experience: required none; preferred five years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, engineer, procure, construct, and start up multiple capital projects.
• Review PSA approvals, PCRs, and project completion reports for upper management.
• Coordinate project communications, run regular team meetings, and present status to stakeholders.
• Organize work of engineers, construction resources, technicians to meet goals.
• Manage contracts with engineering, equipment suppliers and construction contractors.
• Oversee scope changes and ensure required approvals via change control.
• Draft input to budgets for expenses, capital, manpower and salaries.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
