Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Senior Project Manager to define, justify and lead IT projects for the DMV. You will oversee business processes, assemble and guide teams, and advise DMV leaders on design, implementation and optimization.

This role requires strategic thinking, strong communication, and experience with portfolio management and PMP certification; occasional travel and a hybrid schedule with one day in office monthly.

Qualifications

  • Seven years of professional level experience related to the class concept; OR six years with Oregon PM Associate Certification; OR four years with a Bachelor's in a related field; OR two years with PMP certification.
  • Portfolio management methodologies and best practices experience.
  • Experience mentoring junior project managers and other project team members.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and facilitation.
  • Experience using procurement and project oversight framework systems similar to Oregon Buys and DAS/EIS Stage Gate.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as designated business architect for major IT related projects.
  • Assemble teams to support major IT related projects.
  • Monitor performance of team members.
  • Develop division level project portfolio and align with strategic goals.
  • Guide non-IT business initiatives for DMV units.
  • Coordinate and facilitate team meetings.
  • Develop, implement and maintain business architecture policies, processes and procedures.
  • Provide advice and develop recommendations for DMV management.
