Overview
The IT Program Manager will oversee multiple IT projects and initiatives within the Department of Transportation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives. This role requires a strong leader with extensive project management experience and a proven ability to manage complex programs. The IT Program Manager will coordinate resources, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive the successful delivery of projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT programs and projects within the Department of Transportation.
- Develop and manage program roadmaps, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful completion of all initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT staff, project managers, and external vendors, to ensure program objectives are met.
- Monitor and report on program performance, including tracking progress against milestones and deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate program risks and issues, implementing appropriate solutions to ensure project success.
- Facilitate regular program meetings and provide updates to stakeholders on program status and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with project management best practices and standards, including adherence to the PMP methodology.
- Develop and maintain program documentation, including project charters, status reports, and lessons learned.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting effective communication and collaboration among team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT project and program management, with a strong track record of successful program delivery.
- PMP certification is required.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello).
- Experience in government or transportation sectors is a plus.
