Job summary

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience in the architectural field
• License required
• Experience in Affordable Housing preferred
• Experience with Maryland LIHTC processes is required
• Experience leading client meetings and sub-consultant coordination
• Experience in preparing construction documents and construction administration
• Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations
• Strong knowledge of the various federal, state, and local funding sources and application processes

Responsibilities

• Develops a thorough understanding of projects’ design philosophy and provides input in developing a design and building performance strategy
• Leads project technical design efforts, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination, and quality control efforts during all phases of project work
• Seeks creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develops appropriate research and documents to support these solutions
• Actively collaborates with and coordinates work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals of the project
• Delivers complete, accurate, and coordinated project documentation
• Oversees the production of schematic, design development, and construction documents in compliance with project scope, schedule, cost, and design intent during all project phases
• Maintains awareness of evolving building technology and systems
• Oversees construction administration duties (e.g. RFI’s, RFP’s, change orders, etc.). Reviews shop drawings, material samples, and CDs for conformance with design.
• Develops and manages project schedules, including HCM staffing assignments
• Manages contract compliance and project financials including fee budgets and invoicing
• Fosters a collaborative team environment that mentors and develops junior staff
• Maintains contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client and owner presentations as required
