Qualifications

Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Reports To: Director of Delivery

Department: Technical Solutions

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: $115-120,000 (firm, dependent on experience)

Location: Remote, but must reside in Eastern Time Zone

The Senior Project Manager (SRPM) establishes and maintains ongoing customer relationships including oversight of all customers’ services projects and leveraging existing relationships to create new business opportunities. The Senior Project Manager is typically responsible for projects with a combined estimated project value of greater than $10M. This role ensures the execution of customer needs while delivering profitable results through the forecast, analysis, and management of project budgets. The Senior Project Manager hires and allocates resources for multiple projects and leads Project Managers to ensure the progression of the project in accordance with both the customer’s and Smartlink’s goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain ongoing long-term relationships with customers and leverage existing relationships to create new business opportunities.
  • Maintain clear understating of customer and sub-contractor contracts, pay points and invoicing systems.
  • Develop clear and detailed project plans that are feasible yet achievable and in accordance with Smartlink’s strategy and business goals.
  • Work with teams to maintain an accurate budget for each assigned project.
  • Deliver consistent, profitable results tied to Smartlink’s financial calendar through the forecasting, analysis, and management of services project budgets.
  • Interview and assess candidates and place personnel to maximize productivity.
  • Develop project teams through tactical onboarding of new talent and development of internal talent; train internal disciplines to lead their sites consistent with Smartlink policy and procedure.
  • Work closely with the internal executive team to develop business initiatives into clear objectives and concrete goals for the program teams.
  • Act as point of escalation for customers and internal team.
  • Monitor the progress and results of the team, including contractors, and provide timely and effective evaluations and feedback.
  • Provide annual, quarterly, weekly, and ad hoc reporting pertaining to services project activity.
  • Contribute to Smartlink’s body of knowledge on process design, modeling, execution, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and company standards at all times.
  • Champion Smartlink’s beliefs and values through everyday actions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, to include coaching and development of future leaders.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing project teams and programmatic work that involve high levels of collaboration.
  • Extensive knowledge of the wireless industry and its practices, including leasing, zoning, and construction.
  • Ability to thoughtfully provide feedback and adapt behavior to feedback received.
  • Result oriented with the ability to balance all business considerations.
  • Strong demonstrated ability to prioritize, a commitment to tight deadlines, and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong project management and timeline management skills.
  • Proven excellence in managing large numbers of details and logistics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with excellent interpersonal, coaching, and negotiating skills.
  • Proficient at MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Demonstrates ability to think strategically and align business processes to organizational objectives.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, including maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
Education and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 13 years of experience in the telecommunications industry; including at least 8 years of experience in a management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an added advantage but not required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Moderate travel, less than 30%, is expected for this position as needed to perform job responsibilities.
