Job summary

Alexander Associates Technical Recruitment is partnering with a civil engineering consultancy to appoint a Land Development Principal to lead and grow its Austin operation. The role requires an experienced Professional Engineer to oversee major projects, build client relationships and generate new business throughout Central Texas.

Salary is $160,000-$220,000+ depending on experience, with a focus on delivering high-quality land/site development work, managing budgets and leading a talented team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Texas PE license.
• Extensive land/site development engineering experience.
• Proven track record managing clients, projects and technical teams.
• Established relationships within the Austin or Central Texas market.
• Strong grasp of grading, drainage, utilities and stormwater management.
• Excellent leadership, communication and commercial-management skills.
• Ability to win work and develop long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of land and site development projects throughout the Austin region.
• Manage relationships with developers, architects, municipalities and other key clients.
• Generate new project opportunities and support growth of the local practice.
• Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules and technical deliverables.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to project managers, engineers and designers.
• Support proposals, presentations and contract negotiations.
• Monitor project performance, profitability and client satisfaction.
• Ensure plans and deliverables meet technical and quality standards.
• Assist with recruitment, mentoring and long-term development of the Austin team.
