Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced finance professional to oversee accounting operations for large-scale construction projects in Des Moines area. This role partners with project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and profitable project performance.

Responsibilities include managing cash flow, contract analysis, and coordination with auditors, while leading process improvements across the finance function within a dynamic construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited program.
• Minimum 4 years of related experience; construction-industry experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with general and administrative cost allocation, budgeting, and forecasting for construction operations.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable best practices.
• Supervisory or lead experience with ability to influence without authority.
• Strong ability to manage cash flow and optimize profitability.
• Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and work with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee accounting operations for complex construction projects.
• Lead monthly close, reporting, and variance analysis.
• Oversee billing, cash flow, and subcontractor payment processes.
• Ensure internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with company policies.
• Partner with project teams and external auditors to improve financial outcomes.
