Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced finance professional to guide financial reporting and system maintenance. You will interact with Operations Financial Managers to update processes, policies, and ledger accuracy, while driving training across Turner Finance groups.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will oversee month-end close, reconcile accounts, and promote timely, accurate statements. Some travel is required in a dynamic construction environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field required; 8+ years of related experience; advanced degree and/or CPA required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, accrual accounting, auditing, fixed assets, and tax filing requirements.
• Strong analytical ability to review trends of large financial data and forecast risks.
• Experience with financial oversight, monitoring, and strategic financial planning.
• Must stay current with financial industry trends and updates.
• Management experience required.
• Proficient with SAP, MS Office and advanced Excel.
• Executive presence with professional written and verbal skills.
• Ability to work across functional lines and levels in the organization.
• Strong presentation skills to negotiate and influence at executive level.
• Continuous improvement mindset; lead by example with performance standards.
• Ability to observe performance, identify development needs, and provide feedback.
• Active participant in community and industry.
• Some travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Research and implement changes to accounting standards per FASB/IFRS.
• Provide audit workflow information to Assistant Controller for review.
• Coordinate with operations finance on procedures, internal controls, and data management.
• Deliver financial/accounting training across Turner Finance groups.
• Collaborate with Assistant Controller to ensure accuracy of financial systems.
• Work with finance teams to ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
• Research, validate, and document procedures and data flow.
• Provide financial data summaries for Assistant Controller review.
• Oversee month-end closing and financial reporting processes.
• Summarize reconciliations for HQ and Profit Center levels.
• Validate internal control procedures for review by leadership.
• Maintain liaison with Financial Center across the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
