Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Executive I to provide overall management for large projects, lead the project team, and ensure strong customer relations from pre-construction through close-out.

The role requires a bachelor's in construction-related field, 10+ years of experience in large-scale projects (including education), excellent communication, leadership, and a solid grasp of project controls, contract administration, and budget oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field.
• 10+ years’ experience in construction overseeing higher education construction projects and other large scale construction projects $75 million+
• Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain successful customer and community relationships
• Conduct key customer service visits from pre-construction to close-out
• Preview proposals and participate in Request for Proposal process
• Act as primary customer contact for assigned projects
• Support business development initiatives and maintain customer relationships
• Provide oversight and accountability for large projects
• Manage contract administration, including terms, change requests, and invoices
• Maintain project budgets, costs, and pricing for profitable delivery
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for project team
