Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Executive I to provide overall management for large projects, lead the project team, and ensure strong customer relations from pre-construction through close-out.

The role requires a bachelor's in construction-related field, 10+ years of experience in large-scale projects (including education), excellent communication, leadership, and a solid grasp of project controls, contract administration, and budget oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field.
• 10+ years’ experience in construction overseeing higher education construction projects and other large scale construction projects $75 million+
• Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Project Executive I who is responsible forproviding overall management for large projects, leading the project team, and ensuring key and successful customer relations, as well as assisting operating groups with winning work. This individual will have the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish and maintain successful customer and community relationships
• Conduct key customer service visits from pre-construction to close-out
• Preview proposals and participate in Request for Proposal process
• Act as primary customer contact for assigned projects
• Support business development initiatives and maintain customer relationships
• Provide oversight and accountability for large projects

• Maintain project budgets, costs, and pricing for profitable delivery

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction overseeing higher education construction projects and other large scale construction projects $75 million+
• Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
• Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
• Current driver’s license
