Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) has an opening for a Project Engineer within the Systems Engineering department. The role focuses on supporting US Navy Ford-class ALRE programs by evaluating changes to baselines and presenting Engineering Change Proposals, helping transition from development to implementation and aiding fleet operations.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's, master's or PhD in engineering or related field with progressive engineering experience.
  • Understand system architectures and CONOPS; strong multitasking and deadline management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership, able to guide staff and interface with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Document findings and present technical results to engineering teams and customers.
  • Lead a team of professionals and provide technical analyses for development, fabrication, testing and integration.
  • Develop program plans, estimates and schedules; contribute to ECPs and proposals.
  • Coordinate with customers, contractors and internal engineering groups on projects.
  • Present at reviews and help mentor other staff on engineering problems.
  • Work extended hours for design reviews and surge support as needed.
