Job summary

Materion is seeking a Project Engineering Manager in Elmore, OH to lead the Project Engineering organization, ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery of capital projects. You will manage engineering staff, develop capabilities, and remove barriers to execution while collaborating with operations, maintenance, and plant leadership.

Projects may exceed $5 million and require coordination with Portfolio Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 12-15 years of engineering, manufacturing, operations support, or capital project experience.
• Experience leading, supervising, or managing technical personnel.
• Demonstrated success managing large capital projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team development skills.
• Excellent project management, prioritization, and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
• Financial acumen with experience managing capital budgets and project portfolios.
• Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
• Up to 15% travel may be required based on business need.

Responsibilities

• Direct large and complex capital projects from concept through commissioning and closeout.
• Lead projects with scope and capital expenditures potentially over $5 million.
• Develop scopes, business cases, budgets, schedules, risk mitigation plans, and approvals.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders for delivery.
• Maintain regular communication with site leadership on status, costs, milestones, risks.
